The MacBook Neo. Hello Neo, thank you Apple. The idea of Apple making a budget friendly laptop is an unfamiliar one. As so is often the case with Apple, when they do something, they do it really well.

The Neo is so capable, it’s become my go to machine. The 4yr old MacBook Pro is still good, but it’s too big to forget if it’s in your bag. It now resides as a desktop machine, tethered to my monitor.

When I first read about the Neo I loved the colours but just assumed it wouldn’t be for me. When I saw the “citrus” model in real life I had that same spark of excitement I used to get when Apple made new interesting tech. Ah those exciting days.

Then, after watching several videos by some trusted YouTube tech reviewers, that was it. I needed a Neo.

And I have zero regrets. If you could do with new laptop, go have a look at a Neo. And you’re probably looking at your next laptop.

I bagged a Citrus one, the colour is fantastic in real life, I also went for the £599 version to bag the extra storage and the Touch ID for logging in/passwords, worth it.

I did wonder if the Neo would annoy me over time, but the only times where it’s slowed me down is when working on several 3D designs, in multiple windows and then doing some Photoshop stuff too. It slowed down, I knew I’d pushed it, so simply closed what I didn’t need and carried on.

Well done, Apple.
