While I was busy learning to be a race driver, my son (age 11) was out walking about the track learning how to photograph cars! I’m so impressed with the results, and I think he’s quite chuffed too!

I completed my second event at Harewood Hill Climb at the weekend. It was a vintage special with some stunning cars, including these classic race cars. @paulmattysportscars

I was on track in the BoxBoxBoxster and managed 2nd in my class of 4, losing out to the talented (and way more experienced 😜 @986aero )

And as ever, my daughter was there cheering me on from behind the barriers, “go daddy”!!

Have to admit I’m enjoying with motorsport lark. It’s a heck of a lot of fun.

Missing F1 much? Maybe I really am. Decided it was time to have our own race so we rounded up a bunch of friends for an excellent night of karting at @teamsportkarting in Leeds.

I was a tad nervous on the first day but the welcome Harewood gave me was amazing. Such a great community of people, helped me figure out how the event works and then down to business.

My first lap was a 74s, but this came down with consistent runs of 71s before clocking my best - a respectable 70.52s.

I’m chuffed, I had a lot of fun and can’t wait to head back to the hill for some more.

May get some newer tyres and see if @rpmporsche can help with some upgrades!
