Here’s your to-do list:
- Get a car, any will do (yes, really)
- Get a licence, fill in some forms, easy.
- Get the essential gear, again quite easy, a one-off cost.
- Choose an event and apply to enter.
But before you get into any this, if you’re based in or near Yorkshire I highly recommend you have an academy day first.
The Academy is the best way to get used to the idea of engaging the racing driver side of your brain and of course having some expert tuition from previous champions. If you’re lucky, you’ll even get the chance for a passenger ride hot lap of the hill in a Mazda MX-5 driven with some spirit.
Keep an eye on the Harewood Hill website for the Academy Days for 2027 (they’ll appear in Jan/Feb) and don’t hesitate, get booked on great ready for the thrill of the hill.
Then if you do like it, you’ll have all the Info you need to compete. Here’s a fab video I found that really shows what it’s like at a proper event at the hill.
